Richard L. "Rick" Hoerster's biography:
I was born and raised in Fredericksburg, Texas the son of a well known local attorney/rancher and school teacher. I became an Eagle Scout and graduated from Fredericksburg High School. I attended and graduated from Rice University in Houston playing Varsity football and majoring and making the honor roll in business. I attended and graduated from South Texas College of Law in Houston, a law school known for providing an excellent and practical legal education. I also made the honor roll there.
I passed the Bar exam and was admitted as a licensed Attorney to the State Bar of Texas in 1978. After practicing Law in Houston/Harris County and gaining considerable experience I married Pat Holsey and I returned to my home town in 1983 to live and raise a family and practice Law with my father, Richard "Dick" Hoerster a well known Attorney who had been practicing in Frederickeburg since 1953. I continue to be associated with my Dad who still actively practices law. My mother is Maxie Hoerster. I became Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
There are over 70,000 attorneys licensed to practice in Texas. Only 7,000 have earned the right to be recognized as Board Certified specialists. The Texas Board of Legal Specialization was established in 1974 by the Supreme Court of Texas at the request of the State Bar of Texas and is the only governing authority to certify attorneys in legal speciality areas. In Fredericksburg I have been active in Community affairs and have served as an office on the local School Board, been past President of the Jaycees, am currently a member of the Rotary Club and I am currently serving as Chairman of the Church Council of the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church. In my personal life I am married to Pat who is a Dental Hygenist and together we have two children, Zac, our son a UT graduate who is currently going to Dental School in Houston and Rachel our daughter an A&M graduate who is currently engaged to Justin Calhoun a professional fireman in San Marcos.
Rachel is going to Nursing School in San Antonio. I have one brother, Dr. J. Steven Hoerster an Orthopedic surgeon in Fredericksburg. In my law practice I have handled hundreds of cases in the Personal Injury area and gained considerable experience trying cases in those areas.
I am a member or past member of the American Trial Lawyers Association, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, The College of the State Bar of Texas and I am currently a member in good standing of the State Bar of Texas. I am currently confining my practice to primarily the plaintiffs practice handling serious injury and wrongful death only cases. I handle all types of motor vehicle, truck, motorcycle, bike, and pedestrian accidents.
